A valley, not a town
Bonsall is an unincorporated community strung along SR-76 and the San Luis Rey River between Oceanside and I-15. There is no real downtown. The nearest thing to a center is the River Village shops where South Mission Road meets the highway, close to the old Bonsall Bridge. Everything else is ranches, groves and houses on hillsides.
Horse country
The San Luis Rey Downs training center and a run of private ranches line the river valley and Camino del Rey. For a delivery that means ranch gates and long drives, some of them unpaved. Say whether the gate will be open and where on the property the house sits.
Up the canyons
Gopher Canyon Road is the main link east to I-15, and Little Gopher Canyon and Moosa Canyon open into the same hills. These are two-lane roads without streetlights, and house numbers are easy to miss at night.
